The World’s smallest heart pumps have been FDA approved for use in children after proving remarkably effective in adults for the past year or so.
The device is called Impella 5.5, and is about the size of a pencil.

In Barcelona, Ugandan athlete Jacob Kiplimo destroyed the half marathon world record, becoming the first person to break the 57 minute barrier with a time of 56 minutes, 42 seconds.
The previous record was held by Ethiopia’s Ymif Kejelcha… which was 57:30 set in 2024 in a marathon in Valencia.
