MONDAY, DECEMBER 16, 2024
I was just coming down with something on Monday but had enough strength to film a report that covered a school shooting in Wisconsin, a fire at a holiday market in New York, also a pet shop ban going into effect in New York City, Donald Trump stating that the government knows what the drones above New Jersey are, Trump also won his ABC News defamation case, but had his appeal to have presidential immunity in his hush money trial rejected, also Tropical Cyclone Chido hit Mayotte, South Korea impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol after a second vote, and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz lost a no confidence vote, and will run in the snap election that will take place as a result.

NOTES/UPDATES:
The school shooting took place at Abundant Life Christian School in Wisconsin. 15-year-old Natalie Rupnow killed a 14-year-old freshman, a 40 year old teacher, and injureed 6 others before turning the gun on herself. Alexander Paffendorf (20) was also detained, confessing to discussing the event with Natalie ahead of time as well as planning to arm himself with explosives and target a government building with her.
There was a lot of misinformation flying around in the immediate wake of this attack, including that Natalie was 17 years old, and that she was trans. Neither of which have been verified, even now, a week later. Here’s a picture of he wearing the same t-shirt as one of the columbine shooters:
New York fire marshals determined that the fire at the New York City holiday market was caused by electrical wiring. And in what some are calling a “miracle on 35th street”, a lot of those shops have been able to re-open just in time for Christmas. The New York Post had the best video with as little commentary as possible:
Pet shops are no longer allowed to sell dogs, cats, or bunnies according to the The Puppy Mill Pipeline Act (READ IT HERE) which just went into affect. You can also read a statement by the New York State Attorney General Letitia James HERE, which includes examples of legal action taken in the past that resulted in this bill.
You can watch Donald Trump’s full statements on the New Jersey Drones and the government’s knowledge of them here:
The case of Trump vs ABC News was regarding George Stephanopoulos saying that Trump had been found liable for rape one of his lawsuits which is defamation, since he was found liable for sexual abuse, not rape. Though legal experts seemed to think ABC could win the case, they settled with Donald Trump for $16 million.
