The F*ckin' News Weekly Recap - October 21-25, 2024

Welcome to The F*ckin’ News Recep. I’m your host Kellerman, and a lot of sh*t happened this week… Let's break some of it down.

The news never stops newsing. This week Cuba, India, China, Yemen, Turkey, North Korea, Russia, Egypt, and in the United States: Texas, and Washington all made it into the F*ckin’ News. You can watch a recap of it all here:

On Monday I reported on Cuba’s national power grid failing, India and China settling a territory agreement, a helicopter crashing into a radio tower in Houston Texas, a toddler shooting a baby in San Antonio, Texas, a teenager being arrested for fatally shooting an entire family in Washington, the U.S. bombing Houthi weapons caches across Yemen with B2 Stealth Bombers.

NOTES/UPDATES: 

• Cuba’s power grid is still not fully functioning with some areas experiencing daily blackouts while they work to get it back up and running. A few small protests have taken place, but little reporting.

• If you’re not familiar with the territory dispute along what’s known as the ‘Line of Actual Control’, Global News did a decently quick overview:

• The border dispute escalated in 2020, but this new agreement seems to have eased tensions and bolstered relations between the two countries. If you’d like, you can READ THE FULL AGREEMENT HERE.

• The helicopter that crashed into a radio tower in Houston, Texas did not have a flight data recorder (which is not required). It seems to have been a “sight seeing” flight gone terribly awry. The Guardian as a few videos with little commentary:

• Ok, here’s the official account of what happened with the toddler shooting the 11-month-old baby. According to San Antonio Police Chief William McManus, three children (3, 2, and the 11-month-old) were in the car with a woman. One of the older children got ahold of a long gun that was located in the back of the vehicle and accidentally shot the infant in the head. It’s unclear how the weapon was stored, but I’ve got more questions than that… why do all the reports say that the kids were in the “with a woman”. Was the woman not their mother? Who was the woman in relation to them? And how will she live with herself? Also why was their a loaded gun in a car full of kids?

• My god, the story of the teenager who was arrested for fatally shooting an entire family in Washington is more gruesome with new details… apparently, it was HIS family. The murderer’s family. He’s 15 years old. He took his father’s gun, killed his parents, his 9-year-old brother, 7-year-old sister… and shot his 11-year-old sister… WHO PLAYED DEAD, suffering non-fatal wounds to her arm and neck. She later escaped and contacted authorities, leading to his arrest.

• Though I reported it on Monday, the U.S. stealth bombers striking Houthi sites in Yemen new broke during the weekend, and even that was a couple days after it had actually happened. You can read the OFFICIAL STATEMENT BY US SECRETARY OF DEFENSE HERE.
