WEEKLY RECAP

Eventful week! Mexico, China, Taiwan, Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Mexico, India, Indonesia, Amsterdam, Russia, Ukraine, North and South Korea, Sudan, Yemen, Syria, and in the United States; Ohio and Washington D.C. were all covered in The F*ckin’ News this week. Plus I had to make a couple corrections! You can watch it all on YouTube here:

MONDAY, JUNE 3 (Click here to watch on TikTok)

On Monday I reported the newly elected President of Mexico, China’s Defense Minister speaking about Taiwan, a mass shooting in Akron, Ohio (U.S.), and Congress questioning Dr. Anthony Fauci.

NOTES/UPDATES:

  • Claudia Sheinbaum is Mexico’s new President, and in my report I made note of the fact that she is Mexico’s first female President AND their first Jewish President. And a lot of commenters entered the chat just to make sure I and everyone else knew that she is NOT a practicing religious Jew. And I hope we’re all on the same page about the fact that… it would be ok if she was a practicing religious Jewish person. The term “antisemitic” is being thrown around a lot these days, and I don’t always think it is warranted. This, however, IS an antisemitic comment. It is based purely on religious discrimination. ‘Jews’ are not responsible for what’s happening in Israel/Gaza right now. The Israeli government is. What’s being done is not being carried out in the name of religion. ‘Religious Jihad’ is not part of Judaism. Whether Claudia is practicing or not is completely beside the point of whether or not she is fit to be President. She could have the same views on Israel as she does currently even if she were religious. And though I’m not offended by her distancing herself from her cultural heritage (and to be clear, it is part of her culture whether she believes in the religious aspects or not) I have read the people in the Jewish community find it distasteful. Though I must say, based on the comments, she likely gained public favor by denouncing her faith.

  • Also worth noting is that this was the BLOODIEST election year in Mexico’s history. Mostly blamed on the cartels, over 130 candidates were killed. To be clear… most of them were at the local level, and not specifically political rivals of Claudia’s. No Presidential candidates were killed. But the violence against politicians continues even since the vote has ended. A mayor was shot just days after Claudia was announced as the new President.

  • For the shooting in Ohio, the only update is that at the time, it was reported that 24 people had been injured, but that has been upped to 27 people in the days since.

  • It was also reported (but not confirmed) that this was a drive-by shooting. That’s based on the one Ring camera footage released… but in my personal opinion, it can’t really be determined if any of the cars in the video are involved in the shooting. Watch the video and judge for yourself here:

  • If you’d like to watch the full Dr. Fauci interview, you can watch the full 3 hour inquiry here:

  • And if you just want to see the Marjorie Taylor Greene section (which went a little off the rails)… I’ll include that clip because whether or not you believe what Dr. Fauci says… you cannot deny the fact that he is a doctor lol.

 KELLERMAN’S FAVORITE COMMENTS:

Don’t crucify me.

Just to be clear, my intention is never to ‘obliterate’ anyone in the comments. Only to share information and encourage media literacy and critical thinking. That’s how we ALL rise up and get better!

TUESDAY, JUNE 4 (Click here to watch on TikTok)

So much was happening in the news on Tuesday, I ended up having to make 3 videos! The first focused on the Middle East. Joe Biden presented a new potential ceasefire agreement, four Israeli hostages were confirmed dead in Gaza, an Israeli air strike on Khan Younis, the Maldives ban on Israeli travelers, and the wildfires burning in Northern Israel as a result of Hezbollah attacks over the weekend.

The second episode (Click here to watch on TikTok) focused on all the bullsh*t happening in the United States. The House of Representatives passed legislation to sanction the ICC, Attorney General Merrick Garland was questioned by the House Judiciary Committee about his withholding audio recordings of a Joe Biden interview and his possible involvement in Donald Trump’s ‘hush money’ trial. Also Joe Biden’s US/Mexico border executive order, and Hunter Biden’s felony gun possession trial resuming.

And the third episode (Click here to watch on TikTok) rounded up some of the things happening in the rest of the world: The results of India’s six-week-long election, the President-elect of Indonesia’s comments on Gaza at the Shangri La Dialogue Conference, the Israeli Security Minister’s comments on Hezbollah/Lebanon, and the Deputy Chief of Hezbollah’s response.

NOTES/UPDATES:

  • Israel’s response to the US ceasefire proposal was skeptical. Prime Minister Benjamin Netenyahu said that it does not provide sufficient guarantees for Israeli security. Hamas’ response was similar, saying that it does not provide sufficient guarantees for a permanent ceasefire and does not include a complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza which has always been part of their demands, along with the release of all Palestinian prisoners and the lifting of the Israeli blockade on Gaza.

  • If you’d like, you can read the US ceasefire proposal HERE. It was published exclusively by the Middle East Eye, and there is a link to Israel’s response in there also. I can’t verify this is the actual legal document but it appears to be accurate based on the summary Joe Biden gave:

  • The names of the 4 hostages confirmed dead by the IDF were Chaim Peri, Yoram Metzger, Amiram Cooper and Nadav Popplewell and supposedly Hamas was holding their bodies. They also confirmed that Dolev Yehud, who they thought to be a hostage, had in fact been killed on Oct. 7.

  • This weekend, 4 hostages were rescued from Gaza. The information is a bit messy though. Hopefully I’ll have time look into it enough to feel comfortable including it in Monday’s episode!

  • Israeli firefighters continue fighting the wildfires in Northern Israel where thousands of acres of forrest and farmland has been burned.

  • The Israeli military responded with strikes on Lebanon, setting wildfires there! I saw one report of white phosphorus being used… but that has not been confirmed by any other source and the site is no longer reachable so take that with a grain of salt.

  • Though I was expecting the US Senate to vote on the proposed sanctions on the ICC… I’m now seeing reports that the bill is not expected to be brought up for a vote in the Senate. The move was heavily criticized, so maybe they’re rethinking it. That said, the US does not recognize the ICC’s judiciary power so… I guess I’ll just try to keep an eye on that for you.
