Another news-filled week… Paris, Gaza, Israel, The Himalayas, the U.K., Canada, Russia, Ukraine, Africa, Sweden, Puerto Rico, Bermuda, Turkey, India, and in the United States: Maryland, Chicago, and Washington D.C. all made the F*ckin’ News. Watch it all in this week’s round-up below:

MONDAY, AUGUST 12 (Click here to watch on TikTok)

On Monday I reported the end of the 2024 Paris Olympics and the top five final standings, a house explosion in Maryland that killed two people, and an airstrike in Gaza that hit a school with conflicting numbers of innocents killed.

NOTES/UPDATES: 

• I really wanted to find a compilation of gold medal moments and amazing feats from the Olympics, but NBC is incredibly stingy with the footage and it’s really I couldn’t find anything like that. So here’s a TikTok I found with some of the funnier moments.

• There were reports of a criminal investigation into Raygun, the now meme-famous breakdancer from Australia, for claims she had rigged her way into the Olympics by being a member of the committee who nominates Australia’s Olympic representatives. But the claims turned out to be false. I can’t even find a full video of her performance, but here are two clips.

• For the house explosion, CNN has a quick video if you want to see the aftermath of the explosion…

• And the school building being struck in Gaza was a difficult story to fact-check as there is a ton of conflicting information with Israel claiming to have killed 19 Hamas operatives but make no mention of civilian casualties, and the Gaza Health Ministry reported nearly 100 civilians killed. And I had people sending me really horrific videos from this incident and I just had no way of verifying that the video was from this particular incident… or that the bodies shown in the video weren’t, in fact, Hamas operatives.

Tuesday’s report was a ‘Nice News’ that included Chicago’s Ducky Derby, which raised nearly $400,000 for the Illinois Special Olympics, the FDA approving a new nasal spray alternative to EpiPens, Michael Bloomberg donating $600,000,000 to 4 historically black medical schools, and Buddhist Nations came together with Da Jiang Innovations to start using heavy-lifting drones to help clean the trash off of Mt. Everest.
