Damn. Another wild week. Bangladesh, Somalia, Kenya, Toronto, Peru, Bangkok, Leeds, Tel Aviv, Sao Paulo, Southwest China, Dublin, and Washington D.C. all made it into the F*ckin’ News. Watch it all in this week’s round-up below:

MONDAY, JULY 15 (Click here to watch on TikTok)

Monday’s report included student protests against government job quotas in Bangladesh, a car bomb explosion and militant fighting in Somalia, a serial killer being caught in Kenya, JD Vance being named as Donald Trump’s Vice President/running mate, Trump’s classified documents case being dismissed, and Russia and China’s joint military drills.

NOTES/UPDATES:

  • I’ll cover the updates on Bangladesh throughout this week’s newsletter because so much happened, but this was the state of things on Monday, when the protests had already turned violent. This video says 400 people injured… which I can’t find verified anywhere. Now, of course… that could be the real number, but consensus of sources says at this point is was just over 100. CLICK HERE TO SEE VIDEO.

  • The death toll has gone up to 5 from the car bomb explosion in Somalia and 10 cars were destroyed. Reuters provide this picture of the aftermath:

  • The fighting that proceeded the attack between Somalian troops and Shabaab militants claimed the lives of 12 more near the Ethiopia border.

  • The arrest of 33 year old Collins Jumaisi Khalusha came shortly after 9 dismembered bodies were discovered in a quarry. You can watch a video of the bodies being collected below from AP if you want. (WARNING: graphic video).

  • JD Vance didn’t immediately make a statement when Donald Trump announced he would be his Vice President and running mate. But he did speak at the RNC meeting a few days later. I’ll do a watch-along of Trump’s speech, but here’s a clip of him talking about JD Vance:

  • A special council has already begun the appeal process for the decision to dismiss Trump’s classified documents case. You can read the court document HERE.

  • As for the joint Russia/China military drills, the concluded without incident. Here’s a video of some of the events with no commentary:

TUESDAY, JULY 16 AND WEDNESDAY, JULY 17

I took these two days off. I missed some sh*t. But daddies need a break sometimes.

How do you feel about that?

THURSDAY, JULY 18 (Click here to watch on TikTok)

On Thursday I came back with reports on torrential rain flooding parts of Toronto (and how so much of the media focused on a viral video of Drake’s house flooding), a rare sighting of the indigenous Mashco Piro tribe in Peru, six people found dead at an upscale hotel in Bankok, an update on the serial killer in Kenya who claims his confession was the result of police torture, and an escalation in the “anti-quota” protests in Bangladesh that included a TV station being set on fire and a government issued internet blackout.

NOTES/UPDATES:

  • To my surprise, a number of commenters said they lived in Toronto and didn’t know of the major flooding happening in other areas. You can see video of the flooding here:

  • And if you really want to see the f*ckin' Drake video, you can watch it here, courtesy of BBC:

  • While a lot of reports did include that the Mashco Piro tribe has had to move away from loggers intruding in their area of the Peruvian Amazon jungle… however that does not seem to be the cause of this citing. The tribe comes to the beaches occasionally to collect turtle eggs. There is normally just not anyone there to capture it on film. (Hence “rare” footage and not “never-before-seen”.) Take a look below.

  • The details of the 6 people found dead at the Hyatt in Bangkok that were released were a hodgepodge of puzzle pieces that make it all seem like a business deal gone wrong and ending in a multiple murder/suicide? Pretty wild if that is, in fact, what happened.

  • Collins Khalusha will be held for a month pending further investigation. Prosecutors denied that he had been mistreated after the defense claimed his confession was a result of police torture. Kenyan police have a history of brutality but what do think?
