• President Trump signed an executive order extending the TikTok divestment deadline to September 17, 2025.

• The order delays the deadline originally mandated by a 2024 law that required ByteDance to divest or face a ban. (Neither has happened yet.)

• This marks the third delay: previous extensions moved the deadline from Jan 19 → April → June 19

• TikTok confirmed it is working with U.S. officials, including Vice President J.D. Vance’s office, to advance a deal.

• China would still have to approve any proposed deal, and has delayed the sale amid broader tariff tensions.
